The GTA is currently chaired by experienced trainer Ricky Holloway, who was democratically elected in August 2012, and is committed to gaining a financially secure and prosperous racing future for trainers and by extension their staff and families, as appropriate.

Improve the Welfare rights and conditions of racing and retired greyhounds.
Gain board representation on the GBGB. We believe strongly the development and management of a successful and sustainable industry will be greatly benefited by trainers - being one of the key stakeholder groups - contributing directly under formal board representation. Without trainers there would be no racing and it’s imperative trainers’ views and opinion help shape the future of the industry.
Secure a formal independent review of the greyhound racing industry given the parlous implementation of Lord Donoughue’s 2007 report, and particularly in light of the findings of the 2013 Owners Survey and the March 2014 Deloitte Report.
Effectively represent the nations greyhound trainers, including improving their operating conditions and their financial and non-financial positions.
Secure an active role in the administration and management of the Trainers Assistance Fund.
